Jaw-dropping moment driver flees his car with seconds to spare before freight train steams through and obliterates it after it became stalled on the tracks

This is the moment a motorist mounted a miraculous escape from their car seconds before it was torn apart by an oncoming freight train after it stalled on the tracks.

Video footage showed the grey car being stuck on the rail crossing at Little Collier Road in Monroe County, in the centre of the state of Georgia.

The driver was seen struggling to get the car off the tracks, as the freight train sounded it horn, warning that a collision was imminent.

Just seconds before impact, the driver ran away, and told others on the road to run away as well.

The car was lifted and torn to shreds as the train hit the car and sped past it.

The driver’s belongings were thrown into the air as the car was hit.

According to the Monroe County Sherriff’s Office, the car stalled at the crossing on December 9 and the driver was forced to abandon it.

There were no reports of injuries.

The video was shot just days before a train in Texas smashed into a semi-truck that was sat on some tracks.

A four-second clip begins with the HGV sitting across the train tracks moments before a train barrels into it at full speed, causing it to topple.

According to the woman who shared the footage on X, the dramatic collision happened at around 9am.

Parker County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident occurred at FM 5 at Annetta Centerpoint Road, just west of Forth Worth and Dallas.

Officers said the road has been closed in both directions with fire crews and hazmat teams on scene to clean up a diesel spillage. Miraculously, no-one was hurt.

‘FM 5 at Annetta Centerpoint Road is closed both ways until further notice for a railroad collision with semi truck trailer and train derailment,’ the sheriff’s office said.

‘There was some diesel fuel and oil spilled but the fire department and hazmat crews are in scene.

‘No other chemicals were spilled or released. No danger to the public. No injuries were reported.’
