PM’s back-and-forth with media over DV rally
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been grilled by Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell over his actions at a rally against men’s violence on Sunday.
The Prime Minister was questioned over whether he could have better handled the interaction with one of the rally’s organisers Saraha Williams.
“You haven’t put what was said beforehand, which is, I was asked to have discussions with people unknown about whether it was appropriate, whether we would be speaking or not, I responded to that,” Mr Albanese said.

“I was happy to speak, happy to not speak, I think the video before then as well clearly indicates what the view was, over whether that was appropriate or not.”
He was then pressed again by Mr Clennell, with the Prime Minister trying to shrug off the question.
“I don’t want to see anyone in that situation, feel badly about anything, about any circumstances,” he said.
“I wish Sarah well, we have reached out – the commission has reached out to Sarah’s organisation to provide a briefing that will occur.”
