Australia's prime minister will use a meeting with Prince Charles at a global climate change summit to wish the Queen a speedy recovery.
Queen Elizabeth has pulled out of the COP26 conference in Glasgow next week after she was advised by doctors to rest.
The 95-year-old spent a night in hospital last week for treatment relating to an unspecified but not coronavirus-related ailment.
Scott Morrison said he had been looking forward to meeting with her again despite appearing to be the subject of the monarch's criticism earlier this month.
“She's the most delightful, one of most amazing people I've ever met,” the prime minister told 3AW radio on Wednesday.
He said last time he spoke to Australia's head of state she was concerned about the crippling drought.
“She was actually interested in the mouse plague in Australia. She has quite a keen interest Australia, she loves Australia and we love her,” Mr Morrison said.
“We certainly wish her well and I'll be passing that on through Prince Charles when I meet him next week.”
Before Mr Morrison confirmed he was attending the summit, video emerged of the Queen saying she didn't know which leaders were coming.
She appeared to suggest she was irritated by a lack of action in tackling the climate crisis.Internet Explorer Channel Network
