Pittsburgh Steelers WR Signs With New York Giants
The Allen Robinson experiment with the Pittsburgh Steelers never quite worked out, as he was released in March following the trade from the Rams that occurred a year earlier.
But now Robinson has a new home as on Wednesday he is slated to sign with the New York Giants.
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Signs With New York Giants
Robinson, 30, ended up last year totaling 280 receiving yards on 34 catches, the poorest full-season numbers of his career. His averaging of a career-low 8.2 yards per catch also stands out in a negative way … though much of this can be as much an indictment of the Steelers offensive woes as it is a criticism of the player.
Robinson was a Pro Bowler in 2015 after having been a second-round pick of the Jags in 2014. And now the reboot … though he will do it with a Giants offense that – to put it nicely – is not well-regarded.
New York last year ranked No. 31 in passing yards and this offseason worked on ways to try to replace QB Daniel Jones. Failing that, Jones is still the Giants’ No. 1 guy … and Robinson gets a chance to help him.
