Plans have been put forward at the building on Thurland Street in Nottingham city centre
Plans have been put forward to create Airbnb accommodation and a dental practice within a building in Nottingham city centre. An application has been put forward to Nottingham City Council to make major changes to a building on Thurland Street already home to a hot food takeaway and a barbershop.
The ground floor of the four-story building on Thurland Street consists of the City Kebab House takeaway and the People’s Barber. The proposals include converting the basement of this site, which is currently used as storage for the People’s Barber, into a dental practice.
It also involves creating six one-bedroom flats in the building in the office spaces which are used by small businesses. The flats will be located across the first, second, and third floors of the building which was built in 1458.

The flat located to the rear of the first building is intended to be used as an Airbnb accommodation. Whilst these major changes are planned for the building both the takeaway and barbers will remain on site.
The application, by C B Homes and Developments Ltd, states: “The site is very centrally located in the centre of Nottingham city. There is ample parking locally at Upper Parliament Street and Lower Parliament Street.
“All necessary facilities exist within walking distance of the site including public transport and access to the greater rail network.”
