PBKS have selection headache with England players leaving: Riley Rossouw

Look, they’ve been phenomenal. They’ve been coming off good form for us. Chahar especially, he’s bowling really, really well and Bras just Mr. Consistent. I feel when it comes to that it’s it’s, I think it’s basically keeping it simple, keeping it wicket to wicket, always being in play whether the ball’s turning or not to give them that opportunity for a wicket and they’ve been phenomenal for us, especially economy wise. So yeah, hopefully they can carry on that good that good run of this. Yeah, I think, I mean he’s in great form. He’s been striking the ball unbelievably well this whole season. To get him that early is, is definitely a positive for for Punjab. So I mean yes, that could be a turning point but I mean that’s that’s there’s so many different variables in cricket and but yes, definitely on the plus side for us taking his wicket very nice and early. Yeah I think the chat out there and I got to give credit to Sam. He came to me the over before and said what do you think about bowling the legs but in the second last over I mean and and he and he took the gamble and it was his gut feel and he and it came off beautifully well and so a lot of credit has to go to Sam for making that decision That’s a brave decision that’s not something that we just see every day in in cricket nowadays and also Char like the way he bowled that over fantastically well so I mean that’s a step that’s how our game has evolved I feel and on a slow turning wicket that’s that’s that was a very good call from Sam. Yeah I think we just got to take one game at a time. We’re going now off to Dharmashala where the wickets more hard and flat and it’s about summing up the conditions as early as possible. We probably got the favour of the conditions tonight with regards to Duke coming in the second innings and it’s just about out playing your opponent on the day. I mean anyone can beat anyone here in the IPL. That’s that’s the beauty of the game. You have to be on top of your game every single ball. And for us tonight it came off nicely. Yeah, well, there wasn’t a lot of talking out there between myself and Johnny because he’s striking the ball really, really well. And so we just kind of let the bats but speak for itself. We just kind of, we spoke to each other on on what the ball’s doing, if it’s shaping, if it’s not shaping, is it holding? But it was. It was pretty much just playing, playing the ball as it is and playing the ball on merit, not premeditating. And that was a kind of the the confidence that we had in each other’s ability of feeding off each other at different times where he was scoring and then I was watching and then I was scoring, he was watching. So that’s the camaraderie in the in the team at the moment with the bat is a +1 for us, especially coming off the the win against the Knight Riders. Chasing 260 down, we’ve we’re very positive as a batting unit and chasing 160 tonight, there wasn’t much discussions about it. Let’s just go out, play it as you see it and have a good foundation and then have wickets in end for the end to finish the game. Yeah, I thought it wasn’t. It’s not the surfaces that we have been getting in the IPL and it’s it takes a different type of skill to play on these type of surfaces and you’re like you’re not going to get a flat wicket every day and it’s just something that you got to adapt to. And I think today Punjab Kings adapted better than CSK. Yeah, I mean, one could maybe say there was a bit of extra motivation, but you’re just very happy that I could score runs for the team today. Put in a very good performance, but sad that I couldn’t get him across the line. I was very upset with myself that when I went, when I went out. But it’s just one of those things. You can’t control everything in the game of cricket. That’s a beauty. I’ll solve it. But yeah, right now my focus is here at the IPL and winning every game that I can or making an impact in every game that I can for Punjab kicks. Yeah. So that’s not something that we really want to think about at the moment. I mean, we still got what I think it’s four games left now and we just want to focus on the very next game. It’s against CSK again, so we’re going to be focusing all our energy at Durham, Sharla. It should be a much better surface over there. Ball does fly as history has shown us. So we’re just putting, putting all our focus at in the next game before we start thinking of playoffs as The thing is there’s a lot of teams in the middle of that pack, so you never know. There’s going to be some results needing to go some some teams way. But we we just want to focus on on our game at the moment and yeah I’ve been I’ve been I I didn’t know that so that’s a sprung up on me. I don’t know they’re leaving so if they are then I mean that’s that’s just another headache for the selection. It’s not my problem but now I’m pretty sure what the guys that are on the bench at the moment are are capable enough to to come into big games and and enjoy and and really express their talent.
