Texas defensive lineman T’Vondre Sweat is an absolute unit, and for those who maybe didn’t catch him dominating the college level this past season, he has done nothing but showcase his staggering size and skills in the pre-draft process.
The projected second-round pick went viral during the Reese’s Senior Bowl for overpowering an SEC lineman, and on Thursday he went viral again, this time at the NFL Combine. Standing in at 6-foot-4 and 366 pounds, the Outland Trophy winner has turned heads for his 40-yard dash time of 5.27.
Obviously, when you hear a 40-time in the 5s you would assume it was a bad time, but at his size and how quickly he got going, it is quite remarkable. Especially when you see the conversion that Robert Griffin III posted on social media, which states if he were a 180-pound defensive back he would be running a 4.26 which is on par with some of the fastest times ever.
This past season, Sweat graded out as the best interior defensive lineman against the run in the country, and recorded a career-high 45 total tackles, five pass deflections, two sacks, and also had a receiving touchdown.
