Paula Deen’s custom-built Savannah mansion breaks local sales record

A Savannah compound originally built by TV chef and Georgia native Paula Deen, 76, and husband Michael Groover back in 2009, has once again been acquired for a record-setting price.

The property, which has now twice been Savannah’s highest residential sale, changed hands this month for $8.4 million, beating its previous record-setting sale of $6.818 million, back in 2020.

“Vila Sacadura is a truly exceptional property, and the sale record is just a reflection of how special this property is, an iconic piece of coastal Savannah,” said Ridley Stallings, who shared the listing with Melissa Hall Rowan, both of Corcoran Austin Hill Realty, in a statement.

The most recent owners — not Deen — gave the estate its current name.

Set on over 4.6 acres and located directly on the Wilmington River, the address boasts 28,000 square feet of living space spread across a main house, barn and two guest cottages.
