Air Force says when Ukrainian pilots will complete F-16 training in US
Ukrainian pilots will probably complete training on F-16 fighters in the United States of America already at the beginning of summer, says the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yurii Ihnat.
“Pilots in Arizona (a state in the USA – ed.) started training later than in Denmark. So expected timeline is early summer, give or take,” Ihnat said.
He added that the terms should be clarified with the partners involved in pilot training.
According to Ihnat, the details of Ukrainian pilots’ training schedules cannot be disclosed.
F-16 for Ukraine
In August of last year, the Netherlands and Denmark promised to provide Ukraine with 61 American-made F-16 fighter jets.
It recently became known that the Netherlands plans to prepare six additional F-16 fighters for Ukraine.
Ukrainian pilots are trained in Denmark and the USA.
CNN previously reported that the first group of four Ukrainian pilots would complete the F-16 training program by the summer of 2024 .
