Passenger hides baby snakes in his pants and tries to board flight

Snakes were almost allowed onto a plane in Florida after a man attempted to sneak them on an international flight.
According to FOX 13 Seattle, a passenger attempted to board an aircraft at Miami International Airport with a bag of snakes in his pants on April 26.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) revealed in an X post that officers at the Miami airport first detected the snake-filled bag at a checkpoint.
Once officials discovered the snakes, they contacted the Customers and Border Protection (CBP) Southeast division and the Miami-Dade Police Department.
It is unclear if the snakes were the customer’s pets, but they have since been turned over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
TSA canceled the man’s flight ticket as a result of the slithery incident.

Although this incident may be stranger than usual, it is not the first time that a flier tries to smuggle snakes onto a plane.
A woman snuck 22 snakes and a chameleon onboard a plane at Chennai Airport in Malaysia last year.
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) posted a tweet on April 30 that contained photos and videos of the animals seized by officials.
In January 2024, one flier at Phuket International Airport in Thailand passed through a checkpoint with a Blanford’s bridle snake.
However, the snake escaped, and a viral video that was taken by a passenger showed that all of the fliers were shocked or terrified.
It is unclear who owned the snake, but it was a non-venomous serpent known to avoid humans.
Several X users had questions about the events that led up to the discovery, and more than one person mentioned the film Snakes on a Plane in the comments section.
An earlier incident in 2023 took place in Malaysia after a woman attempted to smuggle in 22 snakes and a chameleon onboard a plane at Chennai Airport in Malaysia
It is unclear how many times these incidents have occurred at Miami International Airport or if the man was arrested for his actions. TSA did confirm that they canceled his flight
One X user took a guess as to who the man was that attempted to board a plane with a bag of snakes in his pants.
‘My guess is, the guy breeds exotic snakes, or works for someone who does,’ she tweeted.
‘The breeder sold that pair and the smuggler was on his way to deliver them. No one seems to know what kind of snakes they are.’
However, more than one X user claimed that the snakes at the Miami airport were juvenile Palmetto corn snakes.
