The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is offering over a hundred jobs in the Plymouth area. These positions are part of a new batch of jobs in an important recruitment push.

The DWP is looking to hire up to 140 new Universal Credit review agents, who will become a crucial part of the government’s £3.5 billion plan to increase employment and boost the economy.

If you’re considering a energetic career in the Civil Service, applications are open from today, Thursday, February 15. The role of these new Universal Credit review agents will be to check claims so that people receive the correct payments.

For those who succeed in getting a job, benefits include being part of an encouraging team, plus chances to learn and develop on the job. There’s also the option to work a blended mix of home and office working to fit around your life and any caring duties you have.

One Universal Credit review agent, Patrick, said: “My job in DWP is very rewarding. I love the teamwork and the career development opportunities in the Civil Service.”

Another colleague, Doreen added: “If you enjoy helping customers and want to work with a great team, working for DWP could be the job for you.”

Adding his voice to the announcement, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Mel Stride MP, said: “I am thrilled we are investing further in Plymouth as part of our wider commitment to grow the economy by getting people into work.

“The role of our Universal Credit Review agents, like Patrick and Doreen, is crucial in our mission to tackle fraud and error, ensuring the taxpayer gets the best value for money from our welfare system.”
