joe worrall reveals 'only positive' as first match after nottingham forest transfer doesn't go to plan

Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall

Joe Worrall was left frustrated after his debut for Besiktas.

The Nottingham Forest defender played the full 90 minutes of their Super Lig match against Kayserispor which ended in a 0-0 draw. And Worrall, who has joined Besiktas on loan until the end of the season, said the “only positive” was the clean sheet.

He said: “We played away. The only positive thing is that we did not concede a goal. We have to win these kinds of matches.

“We must create opportunities. Besiktas needs to leave these matches with a victory.”

Worrall will make his home debut for Besiktas when they face Konyaspor on Monday. The Turkish club has an option to make his transfer from Forest permanent in the summer and he has previously spoken about his long-term future since leaving the City Ground.

“I signed a new contract extension but obviously my game time was limited with the new manager coming in and the direction that the club wanted to go in,” he told talkSPORT.

“I’ve played two games under Nuno but we’re well stocked at Forest, there’s a lot of talent and a lot of good players at Forest.

“For me, it’s all about getting match fit and me sitting there is doing nobody any favours so it’s all about playing games and then we’ll see.”
