Pura Luka Vega has been released on bail a day after they were arrested anew over their viral “Ama Namin” performance, said “Drag Den Philippines” director Rod Singh on X (formerly Twitter), Friday afternoon.

[Our fundraising efforts are still ongoing because we haven’t raised enough but there are good people who loaned us the money.]

Luka was arrested on Thursday after a QC court issued a warrant of arrest for “three counts of the same crime.” The recommended bail was P360,000.

In October last year, Luka was arrested after complaints were filed against them due to their viral “Ama Namin” performance posted on social media in July.

While Luka was behind bars, their fellow drag artists mounted a fundraising show to help with the bail and raised P892,975.60 in donations.

Luka was released on bail after three days in jail.

In December, Luka celebrated the dismissal of “at least one” case filed against them.

In an exclusive interview with GMA News Online last July, Luka said that their “intent was to embody a version of Christ that is one with the queer audience.”
