The deadline for the second annual Fenland Business Awards is fast approaching – but there is still time to get involved.
There are 12 categories with awards up for grabs in this year’s Fenland Business Awards brought to you by Iliffe Media.
The full line-up of categories are: Apprentice/Trainee of the Year; Best New Start-Up; Best Social Enterprise (sponsored by Clarion Futures); Business Innovation (Sponsored by Nestle Purina); Business of the Year; Businessperson of the Year (sponsored by Mapus-Smith & Lemmon LLP); Customer Care; Employee of the Year (Sponsored by Nestle Purina); Environmental Champion; Independent Retailer of the Year and Excellence in Agriculture (supported by Fenland District Council) and finally Readers’ Choice Award (this award will reward excellent customer service in the retail and hospitality industry as voted for by Fenland Citizen readers).
Stuart Harris (right) of RKA Kickboxing Academy in March was the winner of the Readers’ Choice Category and received his award from Citizen editor Jeremy Ransome.
Winners will be named at the prestigious gala night on Friday, March 15 at the March Braza Club on Elm Road.
The Readers Choice Award, which is sponsored by the Fenland Citizen, is the one where you, the public, can nominate a firm that offers excellent customer service in the retail or hospitality industry.
Last year – as with all categories – this was a hard-fought award with judges faced with three well-deserved finalists to choose from.
But as the saying goes, there can only be one winner, and it was Stuart Harris who was thrilled to pick up the accolade for his business – RKA Kickboxing Academy.
Stuart was overwhelmed to receive such recognition from his clients having received a great number of nominations proving just what the academy meant to them.
At the time he said: “I am blown away by just how many people actually voted for us and it is incredible to receive such recognition.”
Like his fellow finalists he had worked very hard to provide the best possible experience for his clients and had also gone the extra mile by giving something back to the community in the process.
Anyone can nominate any business they feel goes that extra mile to help its customers or clients for this category and as with all the awards the winner will be announced at the glittering black-tie awards night.
The evening will include a three-course meal and will bring decision-makers and business leaders together from across the area to celebrate business success and innovation.
To enter the awards as a business or to nominate for the Readers’ Choice category visit the Fenland Business Awards website (www.iliffemediapromotions.co.uk/fenland-business-awards).
All the information on each category’s criteria can be found here too.
Nominations will close at 5pm on Friday, February 2.
Judges will then start the difficult task of choosing three finalists in each category. These will be announced in the Fenland Citizen with the finalists being notified via email.
Once announced our judges will then arrange to interview each finalist in their place of business.
Then it will be fingers crossed until the winners are announced at the live event on March 15.
