Chennai Super Kings will face Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024 match on Sunday (April 14). The high-voltage match between the two most successful teams in IPL history is scheduled to take place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both MI and CSK will come into Sunday’s contest by securing dominating wins in their first last matches against RCB and KKR, respectively. While MI got the better of RCB by seven wickets, CSK also crushed the two-time former champions by the same margin.

The defending champions have struggled to do well against the Mumbai Indians in the IPL overall but were able to win both matches played last year. Under the leadership of Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK would like to maintain its winning streak and secure two valuable points.

For the match against the Mumbai Indians, CSK will, in all likelihood, make at least three changes in the playing XI. The New Zealander made a super start to his IPL career but then lost momentum. The good thing for CSK is the return of Gaikwad’s form. The 27-year-old scored an unbeaten fifty in the last match and helped the Men in Yellow beat KKR.

The defending champions will also hope for an attacking show from Daryl Mitchell, who was signed for Rs 14 crore in the IPL 2024 auction last year. In his last match at Wankhede Stadium, Mitchell scored a century for New Zealand against India during the semifinal match of the ODI World Cup 2023 on November 15.
