Orlando Pirates have everything they need to topple Sundowns

Orlando Pirates have everything they need to topple Sundowns as PSL champions according to Oupa Manyisa.

The former Orlando Pirates stalwart feels his former club have the players and coach to get the job done.

Can Orlando Pirates break Sundowns’ grip on the PSL?

Manyisa says that Pirates just need to be unified in the pursuit of their goal.

“Pirates have everything they need to topple Sundowns.

“The thing that needs to happen is that the players have to unite, [and] play for the team. Everything will be fine,” Manyisa told Isolezwe.

The 34-year-old added: “I can see that they are united, the team is very united. This season, Sundowns can only win if other teams let them pull away.

“They [Pirates] must challenge them, not be left behind.”

Can Pirates challenge?

Orlando Pirates are already nine points adrift of Sundowns and sitting in fourth place.

Counting in their favour is that they have the best defence in the PSL.

However, they will need to make a concerted push to keep up with Sundowns.

Manyisa also pointed out that Pirates need to stay in the fight, as Sundowns won’t have an easy second half of the season.

Bucs will also not have to contend with a Caf Champions League campaign.

The Sea Robbers are set to restart their campaign just hours before the transfer window opens in January.

Orlando Pirates’ striker hunt

Orlando Pirates still appear keen to add another striker to their squad.

They are also set to offload Bienvenu Eva Nga after an indifferent start to his spell at Mayfair.

Another Cameroonian striker, Marou Souaibou, has also been linked with a move to Pirates.

Rumours that he has already signed have however been rubbished by his Cameroonian club Coton Sport.
