The Guardians have sold out their home opener on April 8.
CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Guardians announced they have eclipsed their ticket threshold for the home opener against the White Sox on April 8. The game is a sellout. But there is still a way to attend if you don’t already have your tickets.
It marks the 31st consecutive opening day sellout since the ballpark opened in 1994. Tickets are still available for the remainder of the first homestand with games against Chicago and the Yankees.
The club is also bringing back its popular $49 monthly ballpark pass promotion. April ballpark passes will include opening day. The standing room only ticket is good for any home game during the month of April.
Standing room locations at the park include The Corner bar, left field and right field drink rails, the home run porch, Heritage Plaza and the new upper level renovated corners – The Pennant District in right field and the Terrace Garden in left field. More information is available at cleguardians.com/ballparkpass.
Tickets for the home opener went on sale to the public in November. Single game tickets to every home date on the 2024 schedule went on sale Feb. 16.
April 8 bears significant interest in Cleveland due to the total solar eclipse that will take place at 3:15 p.m. that afternoon. The Guardians moved the start time for the opener back to 5:10 p.m. in order to accommodate the chaos expected downtown that day.
April 8 will also be the debut of phase one of ballpark renovations at Progressive Field. Construction crews have been working throughout the offseason to remove seating, install several new social spaces and upgrade fan experiences throughout the park. New blue seats have been installed in the lower bowl of the venue as part of a multi-year renovation plan projected to cost $202.5 million.
As a reminder from the Guardians: “Progressive Field is a mobile-entry ballpark. Only tickets on the MLB Ballpark app, MyTickets webpage and SeatGeek app will be accepted. Paper tickets, PDFs and screenshots are no longer accepted. Fans are encouraged to access their tickets before arriving at the ballpark and add them to their Apple Wallet if they have an Apple device.”
