Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh will always be her son's number-one fan as he plays for Dublin

Another year, another season as each county works hard to make their way to Croke Park and lift the Sam Maguire Cup, and Dublin is no exception with some famous parents backing them all the way.

Presenter Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh is a well-known presenter, and it looks like her son, Peadar is making his mark but rather on the field than in a studio.

It’s been a rocky start to the 2024 season but with every match, Peader gives it his all, with his mum behind him all the way but taking on the Kindom this weekend will be no easy task.

Speaking to RSVP back in 2020 the presenter spoke of how proud she is of her son but watching him out on the field is not always easy. Peader had just made his debut in 2019 against Tyrone.

‘I am very proud! It is hard to watch as a mother though; if they get a belt, you want to kill the person that hit them, it is human nature. If the referee is talking to him, you are wondering what he said.’

And although her son is dressed in blue Bláthnaid, who hails from Meath won’t be jumping into it anytime soon. Chatting to the Herald she did recall how she had put on a blue jersey to support the Dublin Girls, Lgfa, and admitted that this was spotted and picked up on in Meath.

When it comes to supporting Peader, Bláthnaid is the ultimate GAA mammy who heads to matches suited and booted with her hot coffee flask in hand, ready to show support from the sideline.

However, she has admitted that she often has to ‘Stop screaming on the sidelines in Irish.’

With the Kerry ready to take on the Dubs it can be guaranteed that B is set not only to get beyond her son, but the Dubs as well.
