“There is no doubt that the use of mobile phones weakens our attention,” the communication and public relations official in Ung i Trafikken, Henrik Pettersen Sunde, stated.
From the beginning of 2021, the fine rates for mobile phone use in traffic increased to NOK 5,000 and three points on the driver’s license (six for new drivers). Previously, it was only NOK 1,700 and two points.
Out of those caught using phones while driving, 934 were in the age group 18–24 years, an increase of 4% from 2020.
