Ebanie Bridges has hit back at comments left on pictures she shared on social media of her and Conor McGregor.
The Australian boxer is sponsored by McGregor’s Forged Irish Stout and visited the MMA fighter’s Black Forge Inn pub over the weekend.
Writing on Instagram, Bridges said: “What an incredible night with @thenotoriousmma and @jasmina.zapotoczna at the @theblackforgeinn.
“Unbelievable food and atmosphere. Thank you for having me and thank you everyone who came out. If you haven’t been to The Black Forged Inn YOU HAVE TO GO. And don’t forget to have a Pint of the @forgedirishstout.
“I f***en love Ireland.”
However, a number of negative remarks were left on the post, with one person describing the comments section as “an absolute cesspit of bitter, misogynistic bulls***”.
Responding to the above comment, Bridges wrote: “Jealous that’s all. The same people would be stopping me and Conor in the street for pictures lol.”
Bridges also responded to someone who stated a lot of people commenting on the post “don’t understand how sponsorships and cross-promotion work”.
She said: “A lot of the people in the comments don’t know s***. They just bored behind their phones… miserable and prob never achieved anything great in their lives.”
‘The Blonde Bomber’ suffered a devastating defeat in her last fight, losing the IBO bantamweight word title to Miyo Yoshida in San Francisco shortly before Christmas.
And she revealed how McGregor reached out to her following the fight, telling the Irish Mirror: “I was at a loss. What he wrote to me and the stuff, trying to motivate me because I was obviously really broken and really upset so just the things that he said to keep on it and keep going.
“Obviously he’s inspirational in his own right and I take on everything that he says so just not giving up and that I am the fighter I am. He pretty much told me that I don’t need to think about anyone else, ‘you just go and do what you do and go in there and do it’ and he’s right.
“I do know what to do, I know how to fight, I’ve won world titles. I’m going to go and do what I do best really. I think that was the problem that I didn’t do in my last fight is be that savage and killer and I didn’t go and do what I do. It was a disaster.
Miyo Yoshida dethroned Ebanie Bridges
“The thing is I just look at that and I learnt my lesson pretty fast that I can’t do that. Stop trying to change something that’s not broke. I’m fully confident, I have all the confidence in the world that if I go back in there and do what I always do then I win those belts and there won’t be a problem.
“I just can’t go in there and try to be something that I’m not because I can’t f***ing do it.”
Bridges is hoping to return to the ring this summer as she aims to put herself back in a position to fight for world titles and ultimately achieve her goal of becoming an undisputed world champion.
She stated: “I’m not one to give up on my dreams and goals because of one roadblock so it’s just about finding a different way to my ultimate goal, which is to be undisputed.
“I’m hoping to be back in the ring by the summer and I’m hoping it’s a fight for a belt. I need to get a win before I can start shouting about world titles again so once I get the win then I can be back there looking for world titles.”
