Labour deputy leader Angela Rayner has been shown being whisked away in a police car while being confronted by pro-Palestinian protesters.
In footage shared on social media, both Ms Rayner and Jonathan Reynolds, Labour’s shadow business secretary, were filmed sitting in a police vehicle.
As the Labour frontbenchers sat in the car, a group shouted ‘shame on you’ and ‘shame, shame’ as they referred to the conflict in Gaza.
An officer is then seen driving the senior MPs away and past a crowd.
Other social media footage showed Ms Rayner, Mr Reynolds and a third Labour MP, shadow social care minister Andrew Gwynne, being confronted at a Stockport Labour event.
Police confirmed that seven people were escorted from the building due to ‘disruptive behaviour’.

In the footage, as attendees are sat around tables at an apparent fundraising dinner, one man is shown walking up to where Ms Rayner is speaking with a microphone and shouts about a ‘ceasefire’.
‘I lost my family in Gaza,’ he adds. A woman then shouts out from the other side of the room, asking: ‘What kind of feminist are you?’
‘15,000 women and children dead Angela Rayner, and you tout yourself as a modern-day feminist. I don’t think so,’ she adds.
‘Women having to use scraps, tents for sanitary towels. Where’s your voice Angela? Call yourself a feminist? I really don’t think so.’
At the same time, the first protester is filmed being taken out the room by a police officer.
Another protester then joins in and films himself confronting Mr Reynolds up close, before Ms Rayner steps in front of him and he backs away.
A fourth campaigner later raises the Palestinian flag as she shouts about ‘genocide’ before being approached by two police officers.
‘Get off me, you’re hurting me,’ she is heard to say, as she is led away.
On Wednesday, a Facebook group known as ‘GM Friends of Palestine’ had urged members to join a protest against ‘Labour’s complicity in the Gaza genocide’.
‘Protest tomorrow in Cheadle, 6.45pm Thursday 25th Jan at Labour Fundraiser Dinner with Labour MPs all who have refused to call for a ceasefire after Israel has murdered at least 25000 Palestinians including at least 12000 children,’ the group posted.
‘MPs Angela Rayner, Jonathan Reynolds, Andrew Gwynn [sic], Navendu Mishra all in attendance.’
A Labour Party spokesperson declined to comment.
It is understood that it is routine for security, travel, and escort arrangements involving the police to be in place for events involving Ms Rayner.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: ‘GMP is aware of footage circulating online showing GMP officers and event security staff escorting people from an event which took place at a venue on Cheadle Road in Stockport yesterday.
‘Police were present in response to a pre-planned demonstration outside the venue. During the evening, it became apparent that a number of protestors were inside and in attendance at the event.
‘Officers assisted venue management in escorting seven people from the premises due to disruptive behaviour and in order to prevent a breach of peace. No arrests were made in connection with this incident.’
Labour has been riven by division since the Hamas terror attacks on Israel on 7 October last year, and amid Israel’s continued assault on Gaza.
In the weeks after the 7 October attacks, Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer came under intense pressure to back a full and immediate ceasefire.
He suffered a huge Labour revolt in the House of Commons in November as 56 of his MPs defied him and backed calls for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
The Labour leader also saw many local councillors quit the party across the country in protest at his stance on the Gaza crisis.
But Sir Keir held firm to his position that Israel has a right to self-defence, although he has since shifted slightly to call for a ‘sustainable ceasefire’ along with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
