The Sooners have regained significant recruiting control over the state of Oklahoma with their 2025 class. There’s a chance that control could get tighter if the Sooners land the prospect that they just received a crystal ball in favor of.

C.J. Nickson, a top 50 player according to 247Sports and the No. 1 player in the state, was predicted to the Sooners earlier this week by Colin Kennedy of Sooners Illustrated and 247Sports.

Kennedy entered his prediction with a significant level of confidence. While there isn’t a time frame for Nickson to make a decision, that’s the third prediction favoring Oklahoma.

Nickson is ultra-talented and has plenty of athleticism to boot. He plays on both sides of the ball and has been offered to play basketball in college as well. Nickson has football offers from Georgia, Miami, TCU, and LSU in addition to his Sooners offer.

At Oklahoma, they have plans to play him as an EDGE rusher if he ends up as a Sooner. He’d also join Oklahoma’s basketball team, where he could play as a talented and versatile wing with the ability to put the ball in the basket.

As it stands right now, Nickson is a composite four-star player on 247Sports. He’s considered the No. 2 player in the state, according to the 247Sports composite ranking, behind another Sooners target, tight end Nate Roberts.
