Horse Tracks: NFL Mock Draft simulation lands Broncos everything they hope for
The 2024 NFL Draft is just a few weeks away and this might be the most important draft for the Denver Broncos in decades. I’ll be working on a full on mock draft database here ahead of that date, but for now I thought it would be fun to hit PNF’s mock draft simulator this morning.
In the first round, the Broncos stood firm and selected UCLA edge rusher Laiatu Latu to help bolster their pass rush.
Then they would trade up form the third round and into the second to get their quarterback in Oregon’s Bo Nix.
Thought this was the first run, I was kind like wow this was easy. So I ran the simulator about 20 more times to see what would happen and almost every one ended with the Broncos getting no quarterback in the draft.
I disregarded the one where they somehow landed J.J. McCarthy at 12 and Michael Penix Jr. at the tail end of the third round. Frankly, this mock was the most realistic outcome… though I expect they’d trade back from 12 to get that early second round pick. There also wasn’t a single simulation where Denver moved up in the first round to get a quarterback.
Would you be happy with this type of draft class through the first three rounds?
