'OBC Quota In Gujarat': Karnataka Congress Leader Points To PM Modi's Contradictory Stance On Muslim Reservation

Karnataka Congress leader BK Hariprasad on Sunday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of hypocrisy and hate politics, saying that Narendra Modi was a three-time chief minister of a state where Muslims got OBC reservation, but was now taking a different stance.

Sharing a video of PM Modi, where he could be seen talking about the reservations granted to Muslims in Gujarat, Hariprasad wrote on X: “Narendra Modi, who is shedding tears about the reservation of OBC, SC, ST communities in Karnataka, has forgotten the truth that Appitappi had said in a media interview about the category of Muslim communities in Gujarat.

“Even though 70 sub-castes of the Muslim community are getting OBC reservation in Gujarat, were they not noticed during the three-time chief ministership? If it a sin to give reservation to the Muslim community, how much is your sin?”

Hariprasad accused PM Modi of having a “hidden agenda” of privatising the public sector.

“In the last ten years, your hidden agenda of privatizing the public sector and abolishing the reservation is being revealed to the people of the country. History has not forgotten the BJP’s anti-reservation mentality, which created a frenzy against the Mandal Commission by setting fires in the streets while giving reservations to OBC communities.

“First stop talking lightly about reservation, reservation is not a government program, it is the right of oppressed communities. The Congress party has preserved the right given by Baba Saheb and will continue to protect it at any cost. Put a stop to the hypocrisy, doing hate politics on the streets for votes. Beware..! Due to reservation, your authority, pride and position will be lost.”
