Northern Territory Police have charged a man three days after a fatal hit and run in Darwin’s northern suburbs.
The 32-year-old was arrested on Friday night and has since been charged by police with hit and run causing death.
It followed a public appeal for witnesses after a 52-year-old man was allegedly hit by a vehicle and knocked to the road as he crossed Vanderlin Drive in Wagaman about 11:10pm on Tuesday.
Police said the driver failed to stop and help the man and instead continued driving inbound along Trower Road before turning left at the intersection of Rapid Creek Road.
The victim was rushed to Royal Darwin Hospital with serious injuries and died the following evening.
Police said they seized a white Toyota Camry after the man was arrested by detectives from the Major Crash unit on Friday night.Internet Explorer Channel Network
