NSW Government targets jet ski safety in new campaign
The NSW Government is launching a safety blitz on waterways, urging jet ski riders to stay safe this summer.
NSW Maritime says the popularity of jet skis and personal watercraft is on the rise, with a 35 per cent increase in licensed riders since 2020.

As part of the latest campaign, officers have conducted more than 2,000 vessel safety checks, issued 186 warnings and 81 penalty notices.
The top reasons for warnings and fines so far include not wearing a life jacket, unlicensed riders, unregistered watercraft and speeding.
In 2023, more than 1,500 jet ski offences were recorded, up 53 per cent on the year before.
