Mill Creek High School linebacker Luke Metz had a strong junior season for the Hoschton, Georgia, powerhouse. He logged 51 tackles, five tackles for loss, and five sacks, which has attracted the attention of several premium programs. Metz caught up with Volunteer Country to break down his top schools and what makes them priority options.
- Duke: “My relationship with the coaches is special. I was at the Clemson game last year, and it was unreal! Coach Patke, Coach Bower, Coach Diaz, and the secondary coach have all been to my school to see me! I love Duke and feel like I’d play early there.”
- Ole Miss: “SEC, they win at the biggest stage. I’d play early there, and I love coach Kiffin. He reminds me of myself. They have a very experienced coaching staff, and that’s key to me getting developed! The facilities are top-notch also.”
- LSU: “I love LSU because they are SEC, and I have a great relationship with Coach Baker. I feel like I can do great things at LSU. The fan base is crazy, and I love everything about LSU. They also play in some of the biggest games in CFB week in and week out.”
- Oklahoma: “I visited last month, and it was awesome! It was amazing how much money they can put into their athletes with NIL, the facilities, the recovery, and everything! It’s awesome. My relationship with their coaches is so genuine and real. They are obviously a powerhouse school, so they are definitely in my top 6!”
- Missouri: “They recruit me hard and make me feel very wanted. Even though Coach Baker left, I’m still interested in them since they just recruited me so hard. I like how genuine my relationship with their coaches is.”
- Tennessee: “I love Tennessee. Who doesn’t want to play for a team like Tennessee? I’d get developed at Tennessee and would love the game day atmosphere. Tennessee is a gold mine for football and a really special place. I love them for sure. Everything about football at Tennessee is ELITE!”
Metz later confirmed his visit plans. “I’m visiting LSU on the 8th, UGA on the 16th, and Ole Miss on the 23rd, all in March,” he also goes on to say, “I may possibly commit during spring.”
