Norwegian Directorate of Health: 95% of people complied with the quarantine rules in June

From June to July, the Norwegian Directorate of Health sent out 59,400 reports on arrivals to the municipalities. 95% of people followed the quarantine rules, according to the directorate.

The National Control Center, which is under the auspices of the Directorate of Health, makes sure that travelers to Norway comply with the quarantine rules upon entry into the country.

In a recent report submitted to the Ministry of Health and Care Services, they state that around 116,000 visitors have been called and checked in the period between June 7 and July 4. A total of 86,000 telephone calls were answered.

Compliance

A total of 59,400 reports have been sent to the municipalities. In 95% of the reports sent to the municipalities, supervisors at the Control Center have assessed that the incoming person knows and complies with the quarantine rules, according to the directorate.

At the same time, the Control Center reports increasing opposition to complying with the quarantine rules. According to the report, there is still a lot of uncertainty associated with current regulations for arrivals after the introduction of stage 3 in the reopening of the country. This has led to incorrect information at the border and the quarantine hotels.

The Control Center has been made aware that Facebook groups have been set up for travelers from different countries with the purpose of sharing information on how to avoid quarantine and quarantine hotels.
