Vietnam has confirmed 691 cases of local transmission, including 551 linked to epidemic outbreaks detected from July 25 in the central city of Dà Nang. Of the patients undergoing treatment, nine tested negative for the virus once, another six twice and 10 three times. Thirty-five deaths have been reported and 991 cases have been cured.
No patient is currently in a serious clinical situation. Nearly 21000 people who have had close contact with positive cases or coming from areas affected by the pandemic are in quarantine in hospitals, places of containment or at home.
To prevent and control COVID-19 in a "new normal", the Department of Health calls on people to live safely with the epidemic, sending the message 5K: Khâu trang (Mask), Khu khuân (Disinfection), Khoang cach (Distance), Không tu tap (Without gathering) and Khai bao y tê (Medical declaration). He also calls on them to download Bluezone, a mobile contact tracing application to identify and alert contact cases.
