On Ademola Lookman’s style off the pitch

A footballer, Ademola Lookman, helped to propel the Super Eagles into the semi-finals of the recently concluded 2024 African Cup of Nations by scoring the decisive goal that won the team victory over Angola on Friday, February 2, 2024.

That achievement marked the first time in five years, since 2019, that the Super Eagles would reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

Even before that particular game ended, many had trooped to Lookman’s social media pages to shower him with accolades for his impressive performance on the pitch.

However, beyond his prowess on the field, Lookman also has an impeccable fashion sense.

Off the pitch, he usually sports stylish ensembles, ranging from suits to sweatshirts and even shorts. His penchant for accessories, such as sleek sunglasses, fashionable bags, and durags, also helps to enhance whatever outfit he adorns. His preference for vibrant colours that complement his skin tone adds an extra layer of sophistication to his style.

His distinctive dreadlocks have also become one of the defining features of his looks, setting him apart whenever he dresses up. Also worthy of note is the fact that Lookman can effortlessly combine simplicity and elegance.

Meanwhile, upon their return to Nigeria after emerging second in the AFCON, having lost to the host country, Côte d’Ivoire, at the final last weekend, President Bola Tinubu hosted the team at the State House Council Chambers during the week.

He went on to bestow the national honour of ‘Member of the Order of the Niger’, on the players and officials in recognition of their hard work, dedication, and sacrifice throughout the tournament.

In a statement following the final match, Tinubu had praised the team, coach, crew, and management, for their exceptional efforts in reaching that stage of the tournament.

Some days after getting the largesse from the President, the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, also honoured some of the team members.

Fubara doled out N20m to the team’s goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, who hails from Rivers State, and conferred him with the Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State.

The governor also presented N30m to the crew members who were in attendance, thanking for their contributions.
