Browns add another draft pick via trade
The Cleveland Browns made a minor transaction on Friday to add another selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Browns are sending backup offensive tackle Leroy Watson IV to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the upcoming draft.
The selection is the No. 227 overall pick and the Browns now hold six picks in all:
- Round 2 (No. 54 overall)
- Round 3 (No. 85 overall)
- Round 5 (No. 156 overall)
- Round 6 (No. 206 overall)
- Round 7 (No. 227 overall)
- Round 7 (No. 243 overall)
The Browns signed Watson in late November from the practice squad of the San Francisco 49ers after rookie offensive tackle Dawand Jones went down for the season with a knee injury.
Watson went on to play in seven games for the Browns, totaling 55 offensive snaps without a penalty, and 28 snaps on special teams.
The Browns rolled through several offensive linemen in 2023 due to season-ending injuries to Jones, Jedrick Wills Jr., and Jack Conklin. While all three are expected back in time for the upcoming season, the depth still leaves a lot to be desired, so it is a good idea to keep an eye on offensive tackles when the draft kicks off on April 25 in Detroit.
