Nach einem Jahr des Wartens haben Nina Flohr und Prinz Philippos nun auch in der Kirche geheiratet. Das Traumkleid der Schweizerin zeigte dabei seine Tücken.

Sie ist die Schweizer Prinzessin! In einer märchenhaften Hochzeit gab Nina Flohr (34) dem griechischen Königssohn Prinz Philippos (35) auch kirchlich das Ja-Wort. In der Kathedrale Mariä in Athen schworen sich die beiden rund ein Jahr nach der zivilen Hochzeit die ewige Liebe. Der Ort hat für Philippos eine spezielle Bedeutung: Vor 57 Jahren heirateten dort schon seine Eltern, König Konstantin II. (81) und Königin Anne-Marie (75).

Die Zuger Milliardärstochter trug ein Kleid der Luxusmarke Chanel mit einer meterlangen Schleppe, die ihr bereits beim Aussteigen aus der Limousine Probleme bereitete. Für Diskussionen sorgte aber auch die Gästeliste: Aufgrund der Corona-Pandemie beschränkte sich das Brautpaar auf eine – für royale Verhältnisse – kurze Gästeliste von rund 100 Personen. Mit dabei waren unter anderem die britischen Prinzessinnen Beatrice (33) und Eugenie (31).

Keine richtigen Royal mehr

Prinz Philippos ist der jüngste Spross der ehemaligen königlichen Familie Griechenlands. Sein Vater Konstantin II. war 1974 nach einem Referendum abgesetzt und die Monarchie in Griechenland abgeschafft worden. Die ehemalige königliche Familie Griechenlands lebt in den Sommermonaten in einer Villa auf der Halbinsel Peloponnes, sonst vornehmlich im Ausland.

Das Verhältnis der Griechen zu ihren einstigen Royals war lange gestört. Grund dafür war König Konstantins umstrittene Rolle während der griechischen Militärdiktatur in den 60er- und 70er-Jahren. Heute aber wird er als historische Figur empfunden. Ihre Adelstititel verwendet die Familie weiterhin – auch wenn sie kein Reich mehr regiert.

Prinz Philiippos hat ausserdem bekannte Paten: Alt-König Juan Carlos von Spanien (83), Prinzessin Diana (1961–1997), Prinz Philip (1921–2021).

In der Schweiz geheiratet

Zivil gaben sich die beiden am 12. Dezember 2020 in St. Moritz das Ja-Wort. Mit der kirchlichen Trauung wartete die Tochter von Unternehmer Thomas Flohr (61) damals noch ab – wohl in der Hoffnung, dass sich die Corona-Lage verbessern wird. (bnr/SDA)
