DURBAN – The Durban High Court will rule this week on the ANC’s request to prevent the MK Party from adopting the name and logo of Umkhonto WeSizwe.
The MK Party has emerged as a strong rival to the ANC ahead of the May elections.
The uMkhonto WeSizwe Liberation War Veterans have taken a swipe at former President Jacob Zuma, and his newly formed MK Party.
They accuse him of stealing their name.

The veterans gathered in Durban to lobby for the ANC on Sunday.
Veteran Jeff Radebe says it’s bizarre for Zuma to say he remains a member of the ANC, and yet campaign to unseat the party from power.
Radebe said, “You cannot say that you are uMkhonto WeSizwe…the ANC is the pillar, is a shield of the people…”
“You can’t say this the ANC of Ramaphosa even our icon Mandela would not have wanted to have said the ANC of Nelson Mandela.”
