Hollywood stalwart Nicole Kidman has congratulated Australian BMX star Logan Martin for his historic Olympic Gold medal with a cheeky reference to one of her 1980s Aussie movie hits.
Kidman took to Instagram on Monday to pay tribute to Martin on his freestyle BMX gold medal, the first ever for the event, while donning a T-shirt from her 1983 BMX Bandits movie.
“Congratulations from this BMX Bandit to Logan Martin for winning the first ever Olympic Gold Medal for Freestyle BMX,” her post read.

A seemingly thrilled Martin quickly shared the post to his own Instagram account.
Martin secured the win on the first of his two runs in the final on Sunday — a routine he deemed his “safety run” — leading to an essential victory lap before he celebrated his new title.

The 27-year-old born in Logan in Queensland — hence the name — dominated the rest of the competition and scored a 93.30 in his first run to sit 1.25 points better than any of the two runs each from his rivals.
“I have no words. It’s still sinking in,” he said following his victory.
“I came into this final with all the pressure in the world on me and I’ve overcome that, and managed to win the event on my first run.”
