Teluk Intan road closure for Chitra Pournami festival
IPOH: Several roads in Teluk Intan will be closed in stages in conjunction with the Chitra Pournami festival.
Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Adnan Basri said these included Jalan Pasar-Jalan Mahkota, Jalan Selat-Jalan Woo Saik Hong and Jalan Pasar-Jalan Maharani, which starts on Tuesday (April 23) from 4.30pm until the end of the festivities.
“The public, especially those who live near the respective areas where a chariot procession will be held, are advised to cooperate with the policemen on duty.
“Road users are also advised to plan their journey to avoid being caught in traffic,” he said in a statement on Monday (April 22).
“About 100 policemen will be on duty during the event to ensure the safety of those celebrating or spectating during the event,” he added.
