Sky News host James Macpherson has criticised Labor politicians for being “completely mute” on Australia Day but “celebrating Chinese New Year” on their social media.
Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil posted on her social media celebrating Lunar New Year; however, she did not post anything on January 26.
Foreign Minister Penny Wong posted on her social media celebrating Lunar New Year but failed to post anything on Australia Day.
“Clare O’Neil is so excited about Chinese New Year, which is remarkable because most of the key Labor Australian politicians said nothing on social media about Australia Day – Penny Wong, Tony Burke, Chris Bowen, Tanya Plibersek were all completely mute on January 26.
“Yet, all of those politicians posted on social media celebrating Chinese New Year.
“Melbourne, which cancelled the Australia Day parade, put on a big parade for the Chinese celebration.”
