The ever-popular presenter Jonnie Irwin passed away earlier this month from lung cancer and his wife, Jessica has admitted to friends that she is struggling to envision a future without him.

When he died aged 50, he left behind his wife Jessica and their three young sons; Rex, aged five, and two-year-old twins Cormac and Rafa.

Posting a picture of the sun-kissed coastline, many believing it to link closely with Jonnie, she opened her heart and soul to followers.

She wrote: ‘It still doesn’t feel real. The sadness is huge. I can’t even let myself think what another week without Jonnie will be like let along another year, another 10 years.’

Jessica continued: ‘I have been truly touched by all the support from friends and strangers. But nothing compares to how I have been picked up by my family and Jonnies’ sisters, your support and love means everything to me. I am loving watching the boys enjoy some days in the sun and having a change of scene is just what we needed.’

Before his passing Jonnie bought his boys their eighteenth birthday presents and opened up about his concern that they might not remember him.

In 2023 he told Hello! Magazine: ‘It pains me to think the twins probably won’t remember me. You hear people say: “I don’t remember my dad. He died when I was so young.”

‘I think about that, and it breaks my heart because that’s what I’m destined to be, really – a footnote in their life. So, I try to have monuments of my love for them.’
