Why Pirates win cups – Jose Riveiro

Orlando Pirates have lifted two MTN8 cups and a Nedbank Cup title under Jose Riveiro in under two seasons.

How has the Spaniard made it possible?

ORLANDO PIRATES START DEFENCE OF NEDBANK CUP

Speaking to the media ahead of facing Crystal Lake in the Nedbank Cup last 32, Riveiro was asked to share his secrets to cup success.

“We are hard workers – that’s why we manage to get trophies. There’s nothing else besides that, and we want to repeat the same (feat) this season,’ Riveiro said via IOL.

“When I think about this competition, I can only think about beautiful memories in all the games we played – extraordinary memories in the semi-final and final.

“So, we want to be there again. But the way to do that is to win every game in the competition. This is a knockout game, and not the league,” the Pirates boss concluded.

I HAVE MY OWN MONEY – ANDILE JALI

In other news, former Pirates star Andile Jali has inspired his followers. The 33-year-old has assured the public that he is financial set, despite the recent Moroka Swallows mess.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Jali revealed that his finances are in order.

Asked if the 33-year-old from Matatiele is affected by the Swallows financial crisis and departure from the club, the midfield legend said no.

“Does Andile Jali have enough money left?” Robert Marawa asked on MSWOn947.

“You know? I have my own money,” Jali replied with a laugh.

“I don’t know when they say enough money [the media], what do they mean.

“Investments?” Marawa asked. “Nice and sharp,” Jali responded.
