New Netflix documentary slammed as 'disturbing advert'

A new Netflix documentary about a psychopath life coach has been slammed by some who claim it’s simply an advert for his business.
The streaming platform has recently released The Psychopath Life Coach, which tells the story of 33-year-old Lewis Raymond Taylor who has made millions from his coaching academy, The Coaching Masters.
Following his transition from prisoner to millionaire, the documentary charts how Taylor has struggled with antisocial personality disorder, emotionally unstable personality disorder, and bipolar II disorder throughout his life.
Combined with a traumatic and abusive childhood, he was constantly in and out of jail until one event turned his life around.
After nearly killing a man, who was left in a coma for three days with severe injuries, Taylor made a massive life change and started his business.
However, after tuning in to the programme, many people have said it simply seemed like promotional material.

Many labelled it a ‘long advert’ on social media.
‘If you were considering watching The Psychopath Life Coach on Netflix, let me save you an hour and a half of your life and tell you it’s an advert for the guy’s company,’ one person shared on X, formerly Twitter.

‘The Psychopath Life Coach is just a very long advert. Why do Netflix buy this c***p. It’s so obvious that the subject of the documentary also produced it,’ someone else wrote.

Another added: ‘Starting to believe The Psychopath Life Coach is as good as he claims because he appears to have convinced Netflix to run a 90-minute advert. My god how did someone commission that.’
Others echoed the same sentiments, with one viewer saying it ‘lacked independence’ and was clearly ‘advertorial’.
‘This felt like an advert, when I was expecting a thorough look into his business practices,’ someone wrote.
Ahead of the documentary’s release, Taylor told Metro.co.uk that he’d battled with ‘very obsessive and very compulsive’ behaviour traits, as well as addictions to sex, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and gambling.
He then went on to explain how using his ‘psychopathic traits’ could be an advantage as a life coach, listing how he was ‘logical, ruthless, assertive, not emotional and doesn’t really have a good perception of fear’.
The businessman also insisted The Coaching Masters is ‘not actually a cult’ adding: ‘I’m not bothered if people think it is.’
