McDonald's is slashing prices on a Big Mac and more items today

There are plenty of McDonald’s offers this week that mean you can enjoy your favourite menu items like burgers and breakfasts for less.

For today only, McDonald’s lovers can pick up a Big Mac, available at £1.49, down from the usual £4.99 price tag.

The offer is only available through the McDonald’s app but customers will also earn points for buying this deal when they opt into MyMcDonald’s Rewards.

The scheme means every penny spent equals one Rewards point, so this week’s offer will get you 149 points when picking up that tasty Big Mac.

In even better news, the McDonald’s Breakfast Wrap is back with a bang and to celebrate, Just Eat is giving McDonald’s lovers the chance to scoop a free menu item.

For this whole week, February 26 to March 3, any hungry customers who order the McDonald’s Breakfast Wrap on the food delivery service will get a free Hash Brown.

The wrap will set you back £4.99 or £6.09 if you add a drink, but with the promise of a free breakfast item, we’d say that’s not bad value for money.

What’s more is there’s no minimum spend to redeem this freebie, so you don’t have to order a feast.

But the freebies don’t stop there. On Friday March 1, on Just Eat, every McDonald’s customer can enjoy a free six-piece Chicken McNuggets when they spend £15 or more after 11am.

Alternatively, they can enjoy a free hash brown when they spend £10. This deal is only available for one day only though.

If you’re thinking about indulging in the iconic breakfast wrap this week, it includes a pork sausage patty, two round free-range eggs, a slice of bacon, alongside a crispy potato rosti and cheese all served in a tortilla wrap with either tomato ketchup or brown sauce.

Though its garnered a cult following, it might not be the tastiest brekkie on the menu. Metro reporter Courtney Pochin recently put the McDonald’s Breakfast Wrap to the test against a customer concoction – the Breakfast Roll with a hash brown inside.

Courtney said: ‘I absolutely LOVE a wrap and breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, so in theory the Breakfast Wrap should have been an instant winner for me.

‘However, I think this might be one of those rare occasions when I think the general consensus is just plain wrong.

‘Now, I don’t want to give you the wrong idea, the wrap IS good. In fact it’s very tasty. After all, it’s hard to go wrong with sausage, bacon, eggs, cheese, and a potato rosti all wrapped up in carbs.

‘But there’s something about these ingredients put together inside a tortilla wrap that just feels wrong to me. I’d usually eat a wrap for lunch or dinner. (Yes, I know breakfast burritos are a thing… but I said what I said.)’

Courtney also complained the wrap went ‘mushy’ as she ate and there was too much egg for her liking.

‘As a hangover cure, I’m sure it’s a dream, but I have to say for everyday consumption, the Breakfast roll is by far the superior choice,’ she added.

‘I know it’s pricier as you’ve got to order a side of hash brown too (£4.09 for roll plus £1.99), but my god is it worth it.’
