Nause: «Möglichen Sturm aufs Bundeshaus verhindert»

Erneut haben in Bern Tausende gegen die Ausweitung derZertifikatspflicht demonstriert. Vor dem Bundeshaus setzte die Polizei Wasserwerfer, Tränengas und Gummischrot ein.

Tausende Menschen haben am Donnerstagabend in Bern und Biel gegen die Ausweitung der Zertifikatspflicht und den «Impfzwang» demonstriert. Auf dem Berner Bahnhofplatz versammelten sich am frühen Abend mehrere tausend Personen, wie ein Reporter der Nachrichtenagentur Keystone-SDA vor Ort berichtete. Der Demonstrationszug zog in die Untere Altstadt, wo im Rathaus zu dieser Zeit das Berner Stadtparlament tagte. Dort sicherten Polizisten in Vollmontur die Zugänge.

Nach 20 Uhr war die Rathausgasse komplett mit Demonstranten gefüllt. Ein Ordner von Bernmobil schätzte die Anzahl der Demonstrantinnen und Demonstranten auf rund 7000. Auf Transparenten waren Parolen zu lesen wie: «Nein zur Zerti-Diktatur», «Nein zum Impfterror» und «Pass = Apartheid». Wiederholt wurde in Sprechchören «Liberté, liberté» gerufen. Immer wieder waren Pfeiffkonzerte zu hören. Viele der Demonstrierenden schwangen Schweizer- und Kantonsfahnen. Viele waren aus der französischsprachigen Schweiz angereist.

Nach dem Umzug in der Altstadt zogen am späteren Abend die Demonstranten auf den Bundesplatz. Dieses war von der Polizei zuvor mit einem Gitterzaun abgeriegelt worden. Die Demonstranten rüttelten an diesem Zaun und feuerten Feuerwerk gegen das Bundehaus ab. Die Polizei antwortete mit dem Einsatz eines Wasserwerfers sowie von Gummischrot. Etwas später wurde auch Tränengas eingesetzt.

Sicherheitsdirektor Reto Nase (Mitte) dankte der Polizei auf Twitter für ihren Einsatz. Sie habe so einen «möglichen Sturm aufs Bundeshaus» verhindert. Gegen 22 Uhr löste sich die Demo vor dem Bundeshaus auf.

Aufgerufen worden war zu der Kundgebung auf den sozialen Medien. Die Veranstaltung war von den Behörden nicht bewilligt worden. Aus Sicherheitsgründen hätten wegen des Umzugs mehrere Strassen gesperrt werden müssen, schrieb die Kantonspolizei Bern auf Twitter. Deshalb komme es zu Verkehrsbehinderungen, wovon auch der öffentliche Verkehr betroffen sei.

Kundgebung auch in Biel

Auch in Biel wurde am Abend laut gegen die Covid-Zertifikate demonstriert. Nach Angaben eines Reporters von Keystone-SDA waren unter rund 1000 Anwesenden Personen aus allen Altersgruppen. Auch sie skandierten «Liberté, liberté», verurteilten die Impfung von Kindern, hatten Transparente mitgebracht und schwenkten Fahnen.

Die Veranstaltung ging auf dem Zentralplatz zu Ende. Bereits seit mehreren Tagen waren in der ganzen Stadt Plakate mit dem Aufruf zur Demonstrationen aufgehängt worden. Dieser wurde dann auf den sozialen Medien aufgenommen.
