Badsha elected TJFD president, Asab as general secretary

, Feb. 12 — Shakhawat Hossain Badsha and Asab Mahmud were elected president and general secretary of the Tangail District Journalist Forum, Dhaka (TJFD).

The new committee was formed after the biennial general meeting of TJFD, held at Maulana Mohammad Akram Khan Hall of the Jatiya Press Club on Monday.

The outgoing president of the organisation, Khan Mohammad Salek, chaired the meeting. The former president of TJFD, Rafiqul Islam Ratan, unanimously announced the names of the committee members, including the president and secretary for the session of 2024-26, in the general meeting.

Other elected members of the committee are Senior Vice President Jahangir Feroze, Vice President Sheikh Enamul Haque, Joint General Secretaries Anisur Rahman Khan and Shahnaz Parveen Elis, Treasurer DM Amar, Organising Secretary Taufiq Apu, Publicity Secretary Walid Khan, Office Secretary Hafizur Rahman, and Women Affairs Secretary Nazneen Akhtar Lucky.

The executive members of the committee are: Ashraf Sarkar, Ferdous Salam, Dr Harunur Rashid, Ekabbar Ali, Anisul Islam, Rezaul Karim, Tareq Salman, Atiqur Rahman, Nurul Huda, Mushfiq Khan, and Abu Md Machani.

Besides, the outgoing president and general secretary will be considered as executive members of the committee.

In the general meeting, an advisory council was formed consisting of former presidents and general secretaries of the forum. There are in the advisory council: Rafiqul Islam Ratan, Gaffar Mahmud, Md. Ashraf Ali, Talukdar Harun, Jiban Islam, Jamal Uddin Jamal, and Feroz Manna.
