Naruto Gets New Official Artwork of the Original Team 7 to Boruto's Present Day
The Naruto and Boruto anime franchises have just received a stunning new color illustration, bridging the Team 7s of old and the present day in a generational piece of artwork.
Via X (formerly Twitter), the official Boruto anime account dropped a seasonal illustration for Spring 2024, captioning the post: “[SEASON ILLUST ~SPRING~] A special illustration from the BORUTO production team!! The beginning of a new life! Let’s run through spring together â¨.” The illustration perfectly embodies the title of Naruto’s sequel series — Boruto: Naruto Next Generations — featuring both the old and new Team 7s. The visual also features their closest rivals, Team 10, comprised of both generations of Ino-Shika-Cho. Readers can check out the illustration below.

Spring’s version is the latest installment of these illustrations, highlighting characters from both franchises with a seasonal touch. Meanwhile, Winter 2023’s version showcased family ties for the holiday season — typically with the younger characters embarrassed by their parents’ antics.
Boruto’s New Anime Return Could Also See the Return of Animator Vincent Chansard

While Boruto’s seasonal illustrations are always a highlight for fans, anime studio Pierrot made headlines this week after it suggested Boruto’s upcoming anime return may switch to a seasonal model, in line with other popular series. Pierrot president Michiyuki Honma hailed Demon Slayer as a turning point for the anime industry, saying that to be #1, the company needed to adapt to the times. Pierrot is typically known for its longer anime series, like Yu Yu Hakusho, Bleach and of course, Naruto and Boruto. The latter may also see the return of the popular Vincent Chansard, who recently said he was open to it under the right circumstances. Chansard previously worked on the series and is a widely renowned One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen animator.
