Senior Motoring Journalist Paul Gover says Australians will keep their “dirty, smelly cars” for longer under Energy Minister Chris Bowens’ emissions standards.
“I was talking to a CEO of one brand today who said the first thing that is going to happen with all of this is that people are going to keep their dirty, smelly cars for longer,” he said.

Toyota is the latest automotive company to come out and say the pace of the government’s new vehicle emissions standards is unfeasible.
Toyota’s warning comes at the same time new analysis shows only 25 per cent of current vehicles would meet the standards set to come into effect at the start of next year.
Mr Gover joined Credlin to discuss the emissions standards and Energy Minister Chris Bowen’s EV push.
