Sir Mick Jagger, 80, is joined by lookalike son Lucas, 24, as they make a rare joint appearance at Madison Square Garden to watch the New York Knicks

Sir Mick Jagger seemed in high spirits as he watched the New York Knicks defeat the Toronto Raptors at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night.

The Rolling Stones legend, 80, cut a low key figure in a black baseball cap as he was joined by his youngest son Lucas, 24.

The father and son both sported black shirts and were spotted chatting and laughing away in the VIP seats.

Sir Mick welcomed lookalike son Lucas with model Luciana Morad Gimenez in 1999.

He also welcomed daughter Karis, 53, who he shares with actress Marsha Hunt in 1970.

The following year, he wed ex-wife Bianca Jagger and had daughter Jade, 52.

Jagger also shares four children with ex-wife Jerry Hall, whom he was married to from 1990 to 1997: daughters Elizabeth, 39, and Georgia May, 32, and sons James, 38, and Gabriel, 26.

The singer is also a great-grandfather after his granddaughter Assisi Jackson gave birth to a baby girl in 2021.

It comes after the Rolling Stones hired a Tina Turner impersonator as a backing singer for their upcoming Hackney Diamonds tour.

Sir Mick, Keith Richards, 80, and Ronnie Wood, 76, have called on Chanel Haynes to take to the stage during their gigs in America.

Chanel is likely to be delighted after she claimed she was sacked from Tina: The Tina Turner Musical in London in 2022 after she jumped at the opportunity to sing Gimme Shelter with the rockers in Italy.

A source told The Sun: ‘The Stones had a very close relationship with Tina and Chanel blew them away when she got up on stage with them.

‘She ended up losing her job on the production because she didn’t want to miss out on the huge opportunity of singing live with The Stones.

‘Chanel has now been booked as one of their backing singers and will be going out on tour with them across America in the spring.

‘It means the world to her and the band were just pleased they could help her out.’

Before performing Gimme Shelter with the Rolling Stones in Milan, Chanel only rehearsed 1969 track once.

After singing to 60,000 of their fans at the city’s San Siro Stadium in June in 2022, she told Rolling Stone: ‘The sound they made was like trees in a jungle in a storm. It’s primal, like a war.

‘When that hit my body, all of those voices, all of those eyes, were shooting into my body.

‘I had to hold and possess all of that. It was a very surreal experience.’

Chanel announced her departure from the West End musical in which she portrayed Tina Turner weeks later, sharing a note from the production’s manager on social media which said she had been suspended.

Legendary singer Tina was friends with the Rolling Stones before her death in May this year.

She claimed she even taught Sir Mick how to dance, insisting he learned how to Pony from her, with the move being popular in the sixties.

Tina died at the age of 83 ‘peacefully’ at her home in Switzerland in May after battling ‘a long illness’.
