Jimmy Barnes has made an exciting announcement less than two months after undergoing open heart surgery.
The rock star, 67, shared a video to Instagram on Sunday, announcing he will be performing at the Byron Bay Bluesfest music festival in March before taking his ‘Hell of a Time’ tour around the country.
‘I can’t wait to get back on stage, in front of the band and playing for you all,’ Jimmy began.
‘So I’m happy to announce that my first show back on stage this year will be at the legendary @bluesfestbyronbay, where I’ll be playing a special Flesh and Wood 30th anniversary show.’
‘It’s also Bluesfest’s 35th anniversary so it’s going a lot of fun. Grab your tickets and I’ll see you there in just over a month.’

The rock star said he will then be taking his ‘Hell of a Time’ Tour around the country.
‘It will be a stripped back, intimate, regional theatre tour starting in June in Perth, and going through until mid August where I’ll be finishing at the Sydney Opera House.’ he continued.
‘Tickets for the ‘Hell of a Time’ tour will go on sale at 10am (local time) on Monday February 19.’
‘Finally, I really want to thank everyone for their support and good wishes while I was ill. The family were passing on your messages of care and it really lifted my spirits.’
In December, Jimmy informed his followers he was undergoing open heart surgery after a bacterial infection spread to his heart.
Following the procedure, the Scottish-born Aussie took to Instagram to let his followers know he is healthy, happy and likely to make a full recovery.

In November, Jimmy was forced to cancel his headlining appearance at Rock the Boat cruise festival in Noumea, New Caledonia, after being hospitalised with bacterial pneumonia.
He then had to pull out of his scheduled performance at By The C in Torquay on December 2 after his condition failed to improve.
Jimmy has a string of sold-out headlining gigs booked for January and February, including multiple shows at the Red Hot Summer Tour festival.
However, Jimmy confirmed late last year that his upcoming shows will likely be axed after doctors found his infection had spread.
