‘I was fired’: Robyn Dixon confirms departure from Real Housewives of Potomac

Robyn Dixon has been “fired” from ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’.

The 45-year-old star – who was one of only four remaining original cast members on the programme – has not been “invited back” to the reality show and laid the blame firmly at the feet of Bravo, insisting she wouldn’t “sugar coat” the reasons behind her departure.

She confirmed on the latest episode of her ‘Reasonably Shady’ podcast: “Yes, I will not be returning for season nine of ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’.

“It’s reality. The network did not invite me back. I was fired, for lack of better words. And I will not sugar-coat the situation the situation and say, ‘Oh, I am walking away and this is a break,’ or anything like this.”

But Robyn insisted she isn’t too upset at the decision.

She said: “This was a network decision and I’m okay with it because nothing lasts forever.

“I’ve had a very long run on the show, and I just really appreciate that time and the opportunity that I had on the show.”

Robyn went on to thank viewers for their ongoing messages of support.

She said: “Thank you to the fans who have watched us from day one.

“I do want to especially thank all of the fans and viewers who have supported me, showed loved to me. Whether you directly sent me love or you prayed for me or you have positive thoughts around me, I appreciate you.

“And I hope I inspired you the viewers, the fans, to live your life authentically. To not feel pressure to change for anyone, or impress people, and just to be yourself.”

Her departure comes a few weeks after Candiace Dillard Bassett also revealed she will not be returning for season nine.

Candiace, who joined the show during season three, said in a statement: “As I embark on a new chapter after six remarkable years with ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’, I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey.

“With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP.”

Candiace went on to thank her fans for their “unwavering support” and admitted she is excited to start a new chapter in her life.

She concluded: “I look forward to the exciting adventures that lie ahead and more importantly, sharing them all with you!”
