modi should return as prime minister in 2024: madurai adheenam head priest who would present sengol during parliament launch
New Delhi: Head priest of Madurai Adheenam, Sri Harihara Desika Swamigal, who will be presenting the ‘Sengol’ to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the inauguration of the new Parliament building, has said he should return as the PM again in 2024.
The historic sceptre ‘Sengol’ will be presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the inauguration of the new Parliament building on May 28 by the 293rd head priest of Madurai Adheenam.
Mentioning that PM Modi is a leader who has got global appreciation, Madurai Adheenam head priest said, “We are all so proud as world leaders are appreciating PM Modi. He is doing good things for people. He has to become Prime Minister in 2024 again and guide people.”
PM Modi will install historic sceptre ‘Sengol’ near the Speaker’s chair inside the new Parliament building. ‘Sengol’ was handed over to India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru by the British, to mark transfer of power from British to India.
The main function of inauguration of the new Parliament building is likely to begin on Sunday noon in the presence of the Prime Minister, former vice president M Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, former prime – minister H D Deve Gowda, Rajya Sabha deputy chairman Harivansh among others.
Invitations have also been extended to former prime minister Manmohan Singh, former Lok Sabha Speaker Shivraj Patil, Congress president and leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and leaders of opposition parties.
Around 20 opposition parties including Congress, Trinamool Congress, DMK, Janata Dal (United) and Aam Aadmi Party have decided to boycott the inauguration of the new Parliament house building. The parties are of the opinion that the President of India should inaugurate the new Parliament House building and not PM Modi.
