M&M rolls out XUV 3XO compact SUV. Check price, availability, other details
In a bid to take on Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) rolled out the XUV3XO at a starting price of Rs 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom) on April 29. The car will be available in petrol and diesel options.
The XUV 3XO comes in a total of nine variants, and the top-end trim, which is the AX7 L trim, is priced at Rs 15.49 lakh (ex-showroom).
“We currently hold the 5th position in the compact SUV market in India. We aim to be the market leader in this segment in the next two-three years, Rajesh Jejurikar, ED, Auto and FES, M&M told reporters on the sidelines of the launch event.
The XUV 3XO will be available with three engine options (1 petrol and 2 diesel) and transmission options will include 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 6-speed AMT.
It carries forward the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. The SUV will be capable of sprinting from 0-60 km/h in 4.5 seconds and will have an ARAI-certified mileage of 20.1 km/l.
The compact SUV also offers a panoramic sunroof and Level 2 ADAS, including features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and blind spot monitoring. Other safety features include hill descent control, hill hold control, vehicle dynamics control and traction control.

While the Mumbai-based automaker will open online and offline orders simultaneously from May 15, the deliveries are set to commence from May 26. The model will be rolled out from its Nashik facility, where its outgoing version (earlier called XUV 3OO) was made. The capacity of this facility is 9,000 units per month (including XUV 4OO), which will be enhanced to 10,500 units per month in the medium term.
The sub-four metre SUV was conceptualised at the Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS) in Mumbai, and engineered and developed at the Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) near Chennai. Jejurikar revealed that the company spent Rs 650 crore for the development of the platform as well as for revamping the production line to build the newly-launched model.
