Shark Tank India 3 intrigues viewers with its fascinating pitches and inventive business concepts. This season, six new Sharks joined the panel. Not all transactions work out on Shark Tank India 3. Similarly, a recent pitcher Anand Nahar did not earn a contract even after Sharks Aman Gupta and Ritesh Agarwal signed it. Now, the pitcher has been on a podcast and made a statement that piqued the internet community’s interest.
Hearing this, the host remarks that he believes the huge businesses with high valuations that participate on the show are purely for marketing purposes. He expresses his desire to learn more about Shark Tank India from the entrepreneur, saying, “Ab ho gaya jo hona tha, cheque fatt gaya ab toh!” (Whatever was supposed to happen has occurred, and the cheque has been torn).
The entrepreneur responds by laughing and saying, “Cheque nahi fata hain, Aman ki kismat fati hain.” (Not the cheque; Aman’s fate has been ripped). He goes on to explain why he made this assertion, claiming that they will be the first firm on Shark Tank India to offer an IPO. He also guarantees the presenter that he will reveal the news in another four to six months.
The pitcher went on to mention that Shark Tank India has a pattern, and when they reject a pitcher, they give specific reasons. When asked why he was so adamant about asking Shark Aman Gupta to commit to the mentorship hours, he explained that he also pledged 1% equity in a single minute, which is not a big deal. So, requesting a commitment to mentorship hours was fair.
However, asking the Sharks to commit hours was quite spontaneous, and they had the notion on the Shark Tank India stage. He explained that when the Sharks presented a valuation of 20 crore, they questioned the reasons behind it. To defend their offer, they underlined that they were providing mentorship and access to their enormous network, among other benefits. And then he asked, “Mentorship doge toh kitne ghanto ki?” (What is the duration of the mentorship?)”
In the same episode, the entrepreneur revealed that their sales have increased since their presence on Shark Tank India 3. “Jis 8 lakh ka hota tha, us 16 lakh ka huya hain raw material ki humne bechte hain.” Anand reported that raw materials and sales were both doubled.
For the unversed, Ritesh and Aman had come together and gave an offer of Rs 20 Lakhs with 1% equity and Rs 1.3 cr debt at 10% Interest for 3 years. However, Anand gave a counteroffer of 100 hours for 1% equity and Rs 1.5 cr debt at 10% interest for 3 Years. Aman replied, “I cannot commit the hours to you. I can make you sit with my team, I can even mentor you but I cannot commit any hours. I want to support you but I cannot commit the hours.”
Anand further kept negotiating, and Ritesh told them that they must trust. Anand further nagged due to which Ritesh and Aman got annoyed for Anand being indecisive. Both of them back out, and Anand and Amrit went without a deal.
